The Otoe County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, May 7, and took the following actions:Heard presentations from District 1 Chief Probation Officer Melanie Stormer and Southeast Nebraska Drug Court Coordinator Chris Reece and approved the FY24-25 budget request and interlocal agreement with the Southeast Nebraska Drug Court;Heard an update from Michaela Valentin, Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) community relations manager, and met Christopher Meeks, OPPD government and community relations strategist; andPostponed a decision on repairing the jail air handler unit until a bid for related electrical work was received.The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Otoe County Board of Commissioners is set for 8:30 a.m.

On Sunday, May 12, at 6:45 p.m., Otoe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Vape Town at 850 18th Street in Syracuse for an armed robbery.
