Wildlife Sciences 4-H School Enrichment Program
Students from Skyview Learning Academy have been learning the past couple months about wildlife through the 4-H program “Wildlife Sciences,” said Erin Steinhoff, Otoe County 4-H Extension Assistant. Students in the fourth and fifth grades learned about five different classes of vertebrates - mammals, birds, fish, amphibians, and reptiles; what make each class different from the other classes; life cycles; and about needs and habitat requirements.

November firearm deer harvest lower than last year
Preliminary Nebraska deer check-in numbers indicate statewide harvest is down 12 percent compared to 2020 for the November firearm season. During the nine-day season, 37,053 deer were harvested, compared to 42,078 in 2020.
