Eastern Nebraska Soil Health Conference set Feb. 2nd

There are many benefits to utilizing cover crops, such as improved soil health, reduced erosion, weed suppression and forage for livestock. County commisioners declare disaster following December 15 storms

At its first meeting of 2022, the Otoe County Board of Commissioners approved a declaration of disaster for the county following the Dec 15, 2021, storms. Otoe County Emergency Management Director Gregg Goebel told the board that storm damage estimates from the Omaha Public Power District could exceed a half-million dollars, He said that Nebraska City Utilities reported preliminary damages of about $40,000, and the villages in the western part of the county each had storm cleanup costs as well.

Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca Middle School has released its second quarter and first semester honor rolls.
