Syracuse sophomore Jace Stinson recently obtained his Eagle Rank, the highest rank possible for a Boy Scout, and celebrated with a pinning ceremony held at St. Paulinus Church in Syracuse.

Nebraska Agri-Business Association conducts expo, announces awards
The 64th Nebraska Agri‐Business Exposition was held January 25‐26, 2022 at the Embassy Suites La Vista Conference Center in La Vista, Nebraska. This day and a half event consisted of educational training on Agricultural Budgeting, Carbon Markets and Nitrogen Stabilizers and a show of vendor exhibits. The association also welcomed Congressman Don Bacon from Nebraska’s Second District to the Directors’ and Industry Awards Reception.

The Arbor Day Foundation's Community Tree Recovery Program held nearly 200 events where volunteers helped plant approximately 150,000 trees in communities impacted by natural disasters in its fiscal year from June 2020 to June of 2021.

Inheritance tax proposal amended, advanced to final reading in Lincoln
A proposal to cut inheritance tax rates and increase exemption amounts advanced to the final round of debate Jan. 20 after lawmakers amended it to ensure step relatives receive the same inheritance tax treatment as beneficiaries who are blood relatives.
Two arrested following overnight pursuits
Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested two people following separate pursuits overnight. At approximately 11:25 p.m. Friday, a trooper observed a Buick Regal traveling at 115 miles per hour on Interstate 80 near Grand Island, at mile marker 317.
