‘Ice Works’ on display at KHN Center for the Arts through April 29

The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts is presenting “Ice Works” by Jody Boyer through April 29. Boyer is an artist based in the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro area. Her latest body of work began in April of 2020 at the start of the pandemic. While Boyer sheltered in place with her family, she found herself reflecting not only on self-care but also on the roles and responsibilities of how we tend to each other, our shared communities, and our shared humanity.

Bird flu detected in backyard flock, wild birds around Nebraska

The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) in conjunction with the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is announcing a confirmed case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in a backyard flock in Merrick County. Since the initial announcement of a detection of HPAI in a wild goose in Lincoln on March 7, additional cases of the virus have been confirmed in wild geese in Cedar and Douglas counties.
