The Nebraska State College System (NSCS) recently released an economic impact report, demonstrating the collective impact of Chadron, Peru, and Wayne State Colleges on Nebraska. This independent report illustrates that the NSCS adds $564.8 million in income to the Nebraska economy each year, signifying that your State Colleges are working for Nebraska.
Mountain lion seen on security camera footage in Lincoln
A mountain lion was confirmed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission through video footage captured July 20 at the northwest edge of Lincoln. This mountain lion was recorded by a household security camera at about 4 a.m.
Wildwood Featured Artist: Ron Wahl
Encouragement from Nebraska City residents Duane and Jackie Smith brought woodworker and Nebraska native Ron Wahl of Derby, Kan., to the Wildwood Art Barn, where his work is currently being featured. Wahl was born and raised in the Western and Fairbury area.
OTOE COUNTY FAIR BEGINS NEXT WEEK
The 2022 Otoe County Fair begins Tuesday, July 26, and extends through Sunday, July 31, at the Fairgrounds in Syracuse. Highlights of the event include 4-H animal shows, nightly entertainment, food trucks, pony cycle races and more. Summer Movie Series in NC continues Saturday with ‘Soul’
The 2022 Downtown Summer Movie Series will continue on Saturday, July 23. The free series features family-friendly movies shown outdoors in the Sunken Parking Lot on Central Avenue Saturday nights at dusk in the summertime.

SCC receives three cars for Ford ASSET program
Southeast Community College’s Ford Automotive Student Service Educational Training (ASSET) program recently purchased three new Ford vehicles from Ford Motor Company. Students will use a 2022 Ford Bronco, 2022 Ford Ranger and a 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E in which to train.
