Kirt Manion, CherryRoad Media Shirley Wichman, industry relations and education coordinator for Nebraska Tourism, was the featured presenter at the Nebraska City Rotary Club meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Valentino’s.
Kirt Manion, CherryRoad Media Nebraska City’s Lewis and Clark interpretive Trails and Visitors Center is currently hosting a photo exhibit entitled “Flood Plain, a Clear View of Life on the Big Muddy” with photos by Omaha resident and wildlife conservation photographer Alex Wiles. The exhibit is free to view for any resident in the 68410-area code and will be at the center for roughly one month.

The Red Cross Bloodmobile was in Avoca on Monday, Aug. 22, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Avoca Town Hall. Joan Meyer called for appointments and registered the donors. Lisa Buchholz and Marianna Kirchhoff took care of the canteen. Excel Specialty Products donated meat for the sandwiches. North Branch Lutheran Church furnished the rest of the lunch.
The meeting was called to order by Commander Reed at 7:30 P.M. with 7 members present. Sgt. At Arms Gerry Davis offered the opening prayer followed by Commander Reed leading members in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Preamble.

Blue Rivers Area Agency on Aging has released the August lunch menu. The menu for the next week is as follows: Friday, Sept. 2: Sloppy joe on wheat bun, sweet potato tots, cucumber and onion salad, fruit salad.
