The one-of-a-kind nature of Jim Fey’s ceramic pieces creates many levels of enjoyment and surprises for the South Bend artist whose work is on display at the Wildwood Historic Center’s Art Barn. Fey said the uniqueness of each piece is visible through the creation, finishing and glazing of the form.
Repairs on a water main break at the west end of 5th Street are nearly complete. City staff was alerted to the break at 4:19 a.m. on Sept. 9th and due to the quick action of employees, located the break and got valves shutoff in about 50 minutes.

The Nebraska State Fair finished its successful 11day run in Grand Island on Labor Day Monday with reason to celebrate. The State Fair had a 7.9 percent increase in attendance, finishing with an estimated 11day total of 287,367 guests.

As the unemployment rate rose to a six-month high of 3.7 percent in August, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of job openings in America sits at roughly 11 million.
