Drought conditions, input prices make for stressful harvest for ag producers

With the drought conditions of this summer and the higher input prices, agriculture producers in southeast Nebraska are dealing with stress and lower yields this harvest season. “Corn started coming in at the end of August, which is about a month early due to the drought,” said Jeremy Wilhelm, chief executive officer for Frontier Cooperative in Syracuse.

Wildwood featured artist: Jim Fey

The one-of-a-kind nature of Jim Fey’s ceramic pieces creates many levels of enjoyment and surprises for the South Bend artist whose work is on display at the Wildwood Historic Center’s Art Barn. Fey said the uniqueness of each piece is visible through the creation, finishing and glazing of the form.

Tree, shrub pruning workshop set Oct. 13 at Auburn

Nicole Stoner, Horticulture Extension Educator from Nebraska Extension in Gage County is putting on a Pruning seminar. The seminar will be held from 6:00-7:30 pm on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the Nemaha County 4-H Building located at 816 I Street (9th & J St) on the Nemaha County Fairgrounds in Auburn.
