UNL Rural Poll shows rural Nebraskans are deeply concerned about drought

Syracuse students excel, achieve above state averages
Syracuse students test consistently above state averages in English and math according to recently released results. As a district, Syracuse students were sixty percent proficient in English Language Arts while the state average was forty-seven percent.
College News
Caleb Lefferdink of Syracuse recently graduated from Northern State University with a degree in Business Administration. Lefferdink was one of 128 students at Dec. 10 commencement exercises at the school. The commencement ceremony was hosted in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Jewett Theater. Dr. Elizabeth Haller, Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and 2022 NSU Foundation Faculty Excellence Award winner, delivered the commencement address.
Celebration honors Hallstrom’s 30 years of service
Granneman Agency in Syracuse hosted an open house Friday, Dec. 9, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. to celebrate LuRae Hallstrom’s 30 years in Real Estate. Hallstrom started in 1992. Her family was building a home and she decided to become a real estate agent to sell the house they were living in. Hallstom said it has been a joy and a privilege to serve Syracuse and surrounding areas for the past 30 years.

Blood Drive collects 51 units
The Syracuse Community Blood Drive was held Dec 6, at United Methodist Church. The drive collected three power reds and 45 whole blood, giving a total of 51 units.
