Alissa Meinke of Syracuse has been selected as the September Otoe County Veteran of the Month.Meinke, who has worked for the United States Postal Service since 2018, was born in California.
S-D-A’s Pitrat is Nebraska Teacher of the Year finalist
A Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca special education teacher was one of three finalists for the 2025 Nebraska Teacher of the Year.Megan Pitrat, who has taught special education at S-D-A Schools for nine years, received the Nebraska Department of Education Award of Excellence.
