The Avoca Town Hall Improvement meeting was held on Friday, May 9, at 8:30 a.m. at the Town Hall. Nadine Kreifels conducted the meeting attending by Bonnie Miller, Deb Dowling, Jenny Meyer, Connie Bruns, and Jim and Joan Meyer.

In the absence of Carline Ostrander secretary, Nadine gave the treasurer’s report which was approved as read. Joan Meyer read the minutes of the last meeting.

Deb has purchased flowers and potting soil to put in the two big planters on the east side of the Town Hall. Bonnie donated the planters. Holes have been drilled in them for drainage. Deb has purchased the flower plants and is ready to get them planted today.

Nadine reported the sign on the front of the Town Hall in memory of Vern Dettmer has recently been installed.

Arlin Michels checked with someone about fixing the cement block on the Town Hall but has not heard back from them. Nadine was also to contact someone about them.

There will be a benefit spaghetti feed at the Town Hall on June 21 from 5 to 7 for Brianna (Jenny’s daughter). All are welcome.

Committee members offered to help Nadine keep the grass mowed this summer if she happens to be gone.

With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

The next meeting will be on June 6 at 8:30 a.m. at the Town Hall. Anyone interested in becoming a board member is welcome to attend.
