Talk to teens about dating violence

Nebraska’s Division of Behavioral Health (DBH), a part of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), urges parents and other adults to have real and in-depth conversations with their children during Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. DHHS is one of the providers of funds to The Nebraska Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence.

February is National Senior Independence Month, which provides an opportunity to celebrate older adults across the state of Nebraska and spread awareness of information and resources that are available to help support them and their independence throughout their journey.

Girl Scout Cookie sales underway for 2023

Girl Scout Cookies went on sale Feb. 10 and will be available through March 19. Girl Scouts throughout the state, including Otoe County, have set goals and are reaching out to friends, family and their community to achieve them. Proceeds from selling cookies stay local and girls help decide how the profits are used.

Rocket boys’ basketball clashes with three foes

The Syracuse Rocket boys’ basketball team faced off with Auburn, Conestoga and Lincoln Lutheran last week. Boys Vs Auburn (15-6) After watching the Bulldogs in the last few state championship games, the Rockets took a play right out of their playbook to take a 27-20 lead at halftime on Tuesday in a home contest. As the Bulldogs are known for doing, the Rockets slowed their game down and took time off the clock with each possession.
