S-D-A Random Acts of Kindness

S-D-A Elementary School started Random Acts of Kindness Week off with a special activity over lunch recess. Students and staff wrote or drew a kind act they were going to do on a slip of paper, and the papers were combined to form a long paper chain of kindness.

Rocket girls surge behind second quarter scoring run, top Tigers

After snow pushed this game back one evening, the No. 3 seeded Syracuse girls traveled to Falls City to play the top-seeded host Friday evening. Syracuse lost to Falls City (169) in the first game of the season, 28-29, but after a season of ups and downs, the Rockets have cleaned up their play and are peaking at the right time.

County board approves keno fund grant for Syracuse sand volleyball project

Sand volleyball enthusiasts in Syracuse will soon have an improved playing area, thanks to a memorial fundraising effort by a local family. The family of Morgan Hallstrom asked for and received $11,500 from the City of Syracuse after the family had funds remaining in a memorial account they had set up to honor their daughter, who passed away in 2019.

Rocket wrestlers score second, third at state tournament

Cy Petersen earned his way to the finals and Barret Brandt ran off four straight wins to grab a medal during action at the Nebraska Scholastic Activities Association State Wrestling Championships at the CHI Health Center in Omaha from Thursday, Feb. 16, to Saturday, Feb. 18.
