The Highlight of My Job Constituents often ask me in person or in their letters what my favorite part of serving as your Senator is. I always give the same answer: returning to Nebraska and hearing directly from you, my fellow Nebraskans.
One summer during my college years, another premed student and I got a job at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, as nurses’ aides. At that time, the guys were called orderlies, but we were part of the nursing department. We were taught how to clean patients’ private parts without making the patient feel self-conscious, and how to place urinary catheters mostly in old men with prostates that had overgrown and were blocking urinary flow.

The Syracuse Rocket boys’ basketball team avenged a three-point loss to Wilber Clatonia from Jan. 3 in a rematch of the two teams at the Class C1-1 subdistrict in Auburn on Tuesday, Feb. 21. The Rockets (13-11) entered subdistrict play as the No. 2 seed, while the Wolverines (11-14) came in as the No. 3 seed.

When it comes down to the end of the season, teams oftentimes have a little bit “more” to give than usual. But the Syracuse boys’ basketball team couldn’t respond when Auburn hit seven three-point shots in the first half on its way to a 31-15 lead at halftime.

2022 Syracuse graduate Lily Vollertsen completed her first season with the Morningside women’s basketball team. The Mustangs went 17-12 and 11-10 in the GPAC. Vollertsen averaged 12.2 minutes in 27 games played. She also had 6.6 points per game with a shooting percentage of 46.6%. She averaged 3 rebounds, .4 assists, .4 steals, and .6 blocks per game.
