Last week, Omaha Westside Superintendent Mike Lucas had a conversation leaked online by “Accuracy in Media,” a government accountability group. In it, Dr. Lucas bragged that his district had some of the “most important” people in the state. These “important people” could be fed talking points by the school district to lobby the legislature to kill bills the Omaha-based school district didn’t like.

Syracuse discusses DTR fund availability for local businesses

The City of Syracuse hosted an open house on the availability of funds for the Syracuse Downtown Revitalization (DTR) project on Thursday, March 23, at the Syracuse Library. Over 25 individuals representing downtown businesses attended. Representatives from SENDD (Southeast Nebraska Development District) and the Nebraska Department of Economic Development were also in attendance to provide an overview of the application process, timeline and eligible improvements.
