Otoe County Board of Commissioners

The Otoe County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, March 28, and took the following actions: Approved a conditional use permit for Frontier Cooperative to operate a refueling station for customers and cooperative vehicles and application machines. The station would be located at 3176 K Rd. and would offer gas, diesel, and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). Customers would pay with a credit card, according to Craig Schultz, chief operations officer of Frontier Cooperative.

Nebraska’s NRDs advocate for conservation funding in Washington, D.C.

Nebraska’s Natural Resources Districts (NRDs) were represented by more than 55 directors and staff in Washington, D.C., March 20-22, 2023. Nebraska’s NRDs advocate for strengthening tools to preserve and fund natural resources projects, which includes influencing policymakers from the ground up with a unified voice.

Syracuse Prom 2023

The 2023 Syracuse Prom took place on Saturday, April 1, at the high school gym with the theme being Arabian Nights. Students participated in a grand march and crowned prom royalty before dancing the night away. Pictured, Jackson Nordhues and Sydney Parsons, flash a badge and fire their bubble guns in a display of grand march fun and frivolity.

Rocket girls’ team scores team records at Auburn

The Syracuse girls’ track team recorded four meet records in Auburn on Thursday, March 30; Ashlynn Vestal in 300m hurdles, 47.88; Kadyn Sisco in the 800m, 2:32.39; 4x100m relay of Kathleen Donovan, Kadyn Sisco, Bridget Donovan, and Ashlynn Vestal, 52.51; and the 4x400m relay of Bridget Donovan, Kadyn Sisco, Katelyn Smith, and Jayden Meyer, 4:19. The girls placed second in the meet with 146.5 points, only 1.5 points behind Conestoga with 148 points.
