May proclaimed as Community Action Month in Otoe County

The Otoe County Board of Commissioners has proclaimed May as Community Action Month in Otoe County. Southeast Nebraska Community Action (SENCA) celebrates Community Action Month annually, and representatives of the organization requested the proclamation from the board during its April 11 meeting.

Smith staff to host mobile office hours in Nebraska City

Constituents of Third District Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) are invited to meet with a staff member of his office at an upcoming Mobile Office in Nebraska City. Third District residents can meet directly with a member of Smith’s staff at a Mobile Office about federal issues, receive assistance with a federal agency, or take advantage of the services available through his office.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. The sunrise was perfect for the Easter Sunrise Service at the Three Crosses. Several local families shared the service and breakfast at the Palmyra Presbyterian Church.

Wallman places at FBLA collegiate conference

Syracuse graduate and University of Nebraska at Kearney junior, Megan Wallman, placed at the Nebraska Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Collegiate State Leadership Conference April 2-3, 2023 at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Kearney. Wallman who is attending Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Mass., as part of the National Student Exchange Program for a semester, competed virtually. Wallman got fourth place in macroeconomics; fifth place in cybersecurity concepts; fifth place in information management; and fifth place in project management.
