Rocket boys’ compete at Capitol

The Syracuse boys’ basketball team went into the Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament as the #10 seed. Last Saturday they beat the #7 seed Conestoga to set up a match-up at the #2 seed Fort Calhoun which turned into a 45-75 loss.

Frontier offers scholarship to support students pursing a career in agriculture

Frontier Cooperative is offering a scholarship for a student entering a college or technical school to further his or her education in agricultural-related studies. The Frontier Cooperative Scholarship will be awarded to a son/daughter of a parent/legal guardian who is an active stockholder of Frontier Cooperative as defined by the Articles and Bylaws of this association.

Rocket girls’ make conference finals

Last week the Rockets girls’ basketball team competed in the Nebraska Capitol Conference as the #1 seed. Their first-round win over Arlington on Monday set up a rematch and win against Ashland-Greenwood on Thursday and a contest with the #2 seed Yutan on Saturday.

Rocket wrestlers place fourth at Raymond Central Invite

The Syracuse Dunbar Avoca wrestlers placed fourth at the Raymond Central Invite with 129.5 team points. Individual placers were 106- Colton Sprague, 3rd; 113- Caleb Caudill, 4th; 120- Jace Goebel, 2nd; 138- Barret Brandt, 2nd; 145- Cy Petersen, 2nd; 152- Tieran Cox, 4th; 160- Tyler Sears, 6th; and 195- Jackson Nordhues, 4th. SDA will compete at the district tournament at Madison on Feb. 11 starting at 3 p.m., and continuing Feb. 12 at 10 a.m.

NSP investigating Sunday morning I-80 crash

The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating a crash that occurred Sunday morning on Interstate 80 near Grand Island. The crash occurred shortly after an Aurora Police Officer attempted a traffic stop on one of the involved vehicles.
