While some Americans see Memorial Day as a three-day weekend spent camping, barbecuing, and going outside, we all need to remember the importance of this holiday. Bella Hogue, 2020 Conestoga graduate and sophomore at Nebraska Wesleyan University, won the 100m dash and 200m dash at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Geneva, Ohio, on Saturday. She ran personal records in both events with 11.57 seconds in the 100 and 23.56 seconds in the 200. Hogue ran primarily distance events in high school before missing out on a senior season due to COVID. She spent her first year of college running for the University of Nebraska in Lincoln before transferring to Nebraska Wesleyan University.
