Funeral services for Merna (Broers) Haberman, who passed on 9/19/21 in Atlanta, will be on Saturday June 11, 2022 at 11:00 am at Hope Lutheran Church, 477 5th St., Burr NE. Interment will follow at the Hope Lutheran Cemetery.
Kelli A. Lewton, 59 of Nebraska City, formerly of Syracuse, passed away on May 27, 2022 at her home. She was born on July 9, 1962, to Alfred & Myrna (Knake) Warlick in Lincoln. She married Charles Farmer and to this union, 2 sons were born. After their divorce, Kelli married Jeffrey Lewton on October 13, 2012. Kelli will be remembered as a loving mother and daughter.
Richard “Dick” Alvin Steinhoff, 82, was born October 19, 1939 to Alvin and Hilda (Klinger) Steinhoff on a farm by Julian, NE. He lived a full and blessed life passing to eternity on Saturday June 4, 2022 in Lincoln, NE.
SYRACUSE AMERICAN LEGION JUNIORS Rockets 11, Lincoln Christian 2 Syracuse finished with 11 runs on five hits and committed three defensive errors. Timothy Lovelace and Jace Voorhees were the offensive leaders with each going 2-for-3.

Lydia Lang of Palmyra has signed a letter of intent to run cross country for Peru State College. She is the daughter of Matthew and Pamela Lang and plans to study K-12 art education while attending Peru State College. Lang has a myriad of athletic and academic achievements, including being a member of the 2021 District Championship Team, being a 2021 State Individual Qualifier, and being on the 2020 State Qualifying Team. Academically, she was awarded the NSAA Academic All-State Award three times, High Honor Roll four times, National Honor Society two times and is a Peru State College Board of Trustees Scholar.
