Arbor Day Farm hosts successful Radler Festival

Despite extremely warm temperature on festival weekend, the third annual Radler Bike Festival at Arbor Day Farm was a successful event for all involved. “The Radler Bike Festival at Arbor Day Farm was a great success,” said Connie Van Nostrand, marketing manager of Arbor Day Farm.

Melvin H. Kuhlenengel

Melvin H. Kuhlenengel, 92 of Syracuse, passed away on June 23, 2022, at the Syracuse Hospital. He was born on November 10, 1929, at home to William & Rosie (Behrens) Kuhlenengelken. On June 16, 1954, he married Marita Siepelmeier at St. John’s Evangelical Reformed Church (McWilliams). They were blessed with 4 children Mark, Mary Kay, Melody and Mona, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom he loved deeply.

Ramona R. Hillman

Ramona R. Hillman (nee Hahn) age 93, passed away June 24, 2022. She was born April 17, 1929 in Hampton, Nebraska. She was the beloved wife of the late Lloyd, loving mother of Cathy (of Missouri), Allan (Pam) (of Nebraska) and Lynette Scullen (deceased) (Rick) (of Ohio), grandmother of Matt Hillman (Shawna), Sarah Meints (Gabe), Brendon Scullen (Courtney) and Courtney Barto (Adam), great grandmother of James Hillman, Maverick and Everly Meints, sister of Rodger Hahn (deceased) (Pollie), Kenneth Hahn (Marilyn) (both deceased), Howard Hahn (Arleen) (both deceased), Marshall Hahn (Lucy) (both deceased) and Dwight Hahn (deceased) (Barb), aunt and great aunt of many.

Rocket Legion claims second, third at League tournament

The Southeast Nebraska Baseball Conference conducted its 2022 tournament last week. After earning an 11-3 win over Tecumseh, the Syracuse Juniors fell to Auburn, 10-2, sending the squad to a third place match up against Plattsmouth where the Rockets triumphed by one run, 4-3.

Rep. Smith seeks Angels in Adoption nominees by July 5
