The Award, honoring families who have held the same ownership of land for 150 years, is presented by the Aksarben Foundation in partnership with Nebraska Farm Bureau and the Nebraska Association of Fair Managers Excerpt from award presentation: Anthony James was born to William and Margaret Buchanan James 1838, Donnegal County, Ireland and came to America with his mother, brothers and sisters in 1854.

As communities across Nebraska’s Third District are turning their attention to back-to-school matters, preparation for harvest, and of course, Cornhusker football, this season I have had the opportunity to appreciate many of the things that make the people and culture of our state special.
