Robert G. Kramer

CDR Robert G. Kramer, USN (ret) Robert “Bob” Kramer passed away peacefully on August 6, 2022. Bom October 24, 1934 to Henry and Alta Kramer in Syracuse, Nebraska, he was a graduate of Syracuse High School and Peru State College.

Irene F. Kuenning

Irene F. Kuenning, 104 of Syracuse, passed away on September 13, 2022, at the Syracuse Hospital. She was bom on August 11, 1918, to William & Mary (Kastens) Genthe at their home northwest of Syracuse.

Malcolm X to be Inducted into Nebraska Hall of Fame

The Nebraska Hall of Fame Commission today selected Malcolm Little, also known as Malcolm X and El Hajj Malik El Shabazz, as the next member of the Nebraska Hall of Fame. Ron Hull, chair of the Nebraska Hall of Fame Committee said that Malcolm X’s impact is still felt today.

Time – to Ponder

Well, I have had a while to be by myself – like 5 days in complete isolation and 10 days of wearing a mask if I did go out of my apartment. Covid – like Elvis, has left the building. At least I hope it has. I imagine Covid symptoms vary from person to person as in most viruses and diseases.

Growth for a strong future

As communities across Nebraska’s Third District are turning their attention to back-to-school matters, preparation for harvest, and of course, Cornhusker football, this season I have had the opportunity to appreciate many of the things that make the people and culture of our state special. Among our many blessings, we have talented young people, world-class agriculture producers, and a heritage of dedicated service laid down by Nebraskans who came before us.
