Kids in crisis

It’s tempting to blame the pandemic for the dizzying rates of mental health concerns among American teens. We are all familiar with the impact Covid is having on our lives, and the disruption it continues to cause in the lives of young people. Kids witnessed vehement disagreements between neighbors, friends, and family over the decisions that had to be made in response to the pandemic, and felt the stress at home as parents faced economic and work changes, all without many of their usual support systems.

Rocket football fell short against Raymond Central

Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca scored on a first quarter touchdown run of 18 yards and then added scoring runs of 4-yards in the second and 35 in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough as the Rocket football team fell short against Raymond Central by the final count of 39-21 on Friday, Sept. 30. With the defeat, S-D-A fell to 4-2 on the season. S-D-A finished with 165 yards compared to 250 for Raymond Central. Rush yards were 143 to 110 in favor of the Rockets. Gabe Dilley had three point after kicks on the game and also had a kickoff for a touchback. Barret Brandt led the defense by racking up the most tackles. Kaleb Swanson had three tackles for loss.

A Weekend To Remember

Just when I had begun to think Nebraska wouldn’t/couldn’t win a football game - they did! Since my twelfth great grandchild had been baptized on Sunday morning and we spent the day celebrating – I was too tired to last out the Chiefs/Buc’s game. So I asked my computer who won this morning.
