103 pounds of marijuana found after I-80 traffic stop Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested a New York woman after locating more than 100 pounds of suspected marijuana during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Sunol. At approximately 10:15 p.m.

Syracuse City Council talks TIF

The Syracuse City Council heard a presentation on Tax Increment Financing (TIF) at their Oct. 12 meeting. Joe Johnson from Olsson referred to TIF as a “locally controlled incentive tool”. Johnson gave an overview of the process including declaring blighted or substandard areas and likely scenarios where TIF could be used for development.

Bomgaars acquires 73 stores from Orscheln

Officials with Bomgaars confirmed the Sioux City, Iowa-based company’s acquisition of 73 stores, including the Nebraska City location, from Orscheln Farm and Home as part of a larger industry mega-deal. The transaction will make Bomgaars the second largest farm and ranch retailer in the nation based on total store count.

Syracuse Blood Drive collects 54 units

The Syracuse Community Blood drive was conducted on Oct. 11, at the Syracuse United Methodist Church. The drive collected 40 units of whole blood and 7 individuals provided 14 units of power reds for a total of 54 units.
