“Be a hero, learn CPR”

We are familiar with the scene on television and movies: a person clutches their chest and drops to the ground, unconscious. Another character starts chest compressions and help is summoned. Although cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR, is often not accurately portrayed in such productions, it serves as a good reminder to all that CPR can save a life.

November firearm deer harvest lower than last year

Preliminary Nebraska deer check-in numbers indicate 2022 statewide harvest is down 9% compared to 2021 for the November firearm season. During the nine-day season, which was Nov. 12-20, 33,866 deer were harvested, compared to 37,053 in 2021.

Congratulations to the winter sport athletes for starting their season by representing District OR1 in a fine manner. The Lincoln Food Bank will be in the Palmyra High School’s north parking lot on December 10 from 11 a.m.

Rocket Esports place at state competition

In its first year at Syracuse High School, the Esports team placed at state in two games. The team of Jeremy Bohaty, Camden Masters, Jacob Panko, Koby Pump and Cade Stephenson, playing Valorant, had an undefeated season and placed first at state.
