Light up Syracuse

Roc Hopper Brewing Company is the winner of the City of Syracuse’s Commerical Light Up Syracuse contest. The Stein got second place. In the Residential category, Braden and Sam Glinsmann placed first, Dan Swaink place second and Robert and Deborah Carman placed 3rd. To be considered, participants had to sign up by Dec. 1 and voting took place through Dec. 20. Winners were announced on Facebook. Commercial winner, Roc Hopper Brewing Company, will receive a traveling trophy and both first and second places will receive a credit to their Syracuse Utility bill. Residential winners will receive a credit to their Syracuse Utility Bill.

Carrying forward the happiness of the Christmas spirit

As I reflect on the last year and anticipate enjoying time with loved ones during the holidays, I’m filled with both gratitude and resolve. As Americans, we have been granted an unrivaled heritage of freedom and prosperity which we now must secure for future generations.

Peru State’s Dodge headed to Sugar Bowl

For just the second time in Peru State College football history, there will be a Bobcat representing the College as a member of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. Garrison Dodge (Oakland) will be flying to New Orleans Thursday to take part in the Good Works Team activities leading up to the Sugar Bowl game on Saturday, December 31.

Area Youth Place at Sneak a Peek Cattle Show

Three area youth placed at the Sneak A Peek Preview cattle show held at the Kimmel Ag Center in Syracuse earlier this month. In Ring A Market Animal, Annalynn Beach, Palmyra, placed fifth overall with her Champion Maintainer Steer.
