Regan Zimmers, daughter of Chris and Jenny Zimmers of Omaha and granddaughter of Steve and Terry Zimmers of Syracuse, was honored as UNO Female Student Athlete of the Year at the recent Maverick Awards banquet.

Zimmers has been a 5 year starter for the UNO Womens’ soccer team. During her time as a Maverick she has helped lead her team to a 2022 Summit League tournament championship, where UNO qualified for the NCAA Women’s Soccer tournament.

Other honors for Zimmers include back to back Summit League Defensive Player of the Year and she was named to the Hermann Award watchlist for the National Womens’ Soccer Player of the Year. Zimmers has also been a part of the Summit League All Academic First Team the last two years.

Regan will graduate in May from UNO with a Masters Degree.
