Norma Jean Bataillon, age 89 of Ralston, NE (formerly Nebr. City) passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Life Care Center of Elkhorn.

She was born on August 8, 1926 in Nebraska City, NE; the daughter of Guy John and Theresa S. (Heng) Lock.  She attended school in Nebr. City and graduated from St. Bernard’s Academy in Nebraska City with the Class of 1944.  Following graduation she attended College of St. Mary in Omaha until 1946.

On October 20, 1948, she was united in marriage to Joseph Franklin “Frank” Bataillon and to this union seven children were born:  Joseph, Peter, James, Mark, Paul, Marie and Michael.  She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.  In addition to raising her children, she taught piano lessons in Nebraska City for over 20 years.  She was a member of St. Gerald Catholic Church in Ralston.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 66 years, Frank Bataillon of Ralston, NE; children:  Joseph F. Bataillion and wife Pamela of Omaha, NE; Peter C. Bataillon and wife Kaye of Omaha, NE; James E. Bataillion and wife Deborah of Houston, TX; Mark J. Bataillon and wife Barbara of Norcross, GA; Paul G. Bataillion and wife Ann of Norcross, GA; Marie T. Olson and husband John of Boston, MA and Michael C. Bataillon and wife Beth of Llano, TX; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers:  Guy J. Lock and wife Judy of Lilburn, GA and Charles M. Lock and wife Pat of Webster Groves, MO; brother-in-law Clint Wilber of Norfolk, NE; other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Janice Wilber in 1983.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at St. Gerald Catholic Church in Ralston, NE with Fr. Owen Korte celebrating the Mass.  Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Nebraska City.

The family will greet friends on Friday (10/9) evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
at the church followed by a 7:00 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary.

Memorials may be given to St. Gerald Catholic School or the Donor’s favorite charity.
