Wanda Christine Cooper (Humphrey ), of Wichita KS, formerly of Lincoln, NE, died in Hospice, surrounded by her family on August 24, 2015. She was 71 years old.

Wanda is survived by her siblings, Ronnie Humphrey of Lincoln, NE and Sandy Snover of Yuma, AZ; her husband of 54 years, Paul Cooper; her children, Vicky Stevens of Wichita KS, Patrick Cooper of Chugiak, AK, and Michael Cooper of Aurora CO; her six grandchildren and her ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Eileen Humphrey.

Wanda was born on March 22, 1944 in Auburn , NE to Herbert and Eileen Humphrey. She married Paul Cooper in 1961, and moved to Nebraska City, NE. Over nine years, the couple welcomed three children into their home and Wanda set about teaching them the determination, hard work, and integrity that would forge their eventual careers in the United States Armed Forces. Her children remember her as a charismatic, sweet and loving woman and, a devoted mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

She was a hardworking individual who was always giving of herself to others, expecting nothing in return. She loved crafting, being creative, and the holiday season, no one who met her will ever forget Halloween with "Wanda the Witch".

Wanda will forever be remembered as an amazing, giving and wonderful, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

The family with greeting friends during the visitation and viewing on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, at Peterson Mortuary Chapel in Nebraska City, NE, a graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at the Wyuka Cemetery, in Nebraska City, NE. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Wanda’s life.
