Hazel Wipf, age 90 of Nebraska City passed away on March 1, 2015, at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE.

Hazel Wipf, age 90 of Nebraska City passed away on March 1, 2015, at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE.

Hazel was born on March 3, 1924 on a farm near Cedar Creek, NE; the daughter of Troy E. and Edrie (Kiser) Wiles. She grew up on the farm and attended school in Weeping Water, graduating from the Weeping Water High School with the class of 1942.

She was united in marriage to Roy Joe Wipf on May 24, 1942 in Springfield, NE and to this union a son was born: Roger. Hazel was a loving and devoted mother and wife. She was a member of the Calvary Community Church in Nebraska City. She also served as Commander for the Tri-County DAV and did volunteer work at nursing homes.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Roger Wipf and wife Margaret of Louisville; six grandsons: Mike, Rick, Tom, Lee, Troy John and Steven Wipf; 14 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren; a brother James Wiles and wife Opal of Weeping Water; sister-in-law Phoebe Lorensen and husband Don of Clarinda, Iowa; other family and friends.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Roy Wipf on April 1, 1996; her parents and a brother Malvin Wiles.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Calvary Community Church in Nebraska City with Rev. Dr. Norman Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Weeping Water.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening (3/3) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.

Memorials may be given to the Chapter 35 D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans).
