(Mueller) Harms, 91, passed away on November 10, 2022 at Independence House, Mandarin in Lincoln,

NE. She was born on September 20, 1931 on a farm near Elmwood, NE to Jacob and Engel (Beneke) Mueller. She was the second oldest of six children. She was baptized October 11, 1931 & confirmed at First Lutheran Church, North Branch. On April 12, 1950 she married Kenneth G. Harms of rural Syracuse, at First Lutheran Church, North Branch. To this union two sons were born, Robert K. Harms, Blair, NE and Donald L. (Janet) Harms, Syracuse, NE. Kenneth and Alvina made their home in rural Syracuse where she was a homemaker and farmwife. She helped Ken with farming and raising cattle. She also raised chickens, sold eggs and cream, and produced a large garden. She enjoyed sewing, handiwork, cooking, and canned or froze many items from her garden. Her grandchildren enjoyed the strawberry jam she made from the strawberries that she produced in her garden. She and Ken took great pride in keeping their yard manicured and grew many beautiful flowers. The family attended Christ Lutheran Church Delaware, where she was active with the ladies of the church, sang in the choir, was on alter guild, helped with service projects and taught Sunday school. She helped serve many farm sales over the years where the ladies of Christ Lutheran were noted for their soups and their homemade pies. She is survived by her sons, 5 grandchildren, Stacey (Casey) Hevlin, Scott Harms, Nicole (Justin) McWilliams, Tiffany (Travis) Walters, and Derek (McKenzie) Harms. Also surviving are 9 great-grandchildren, Nathan, Hailey, Hannah, and Jacob McWilliams, Jaxen, Graysen, and Drake Walters and Calvin and Caitlyn Harms. Also left to mourn her passing are two sisters, Pauline Huber and Shirley Whitney, one brother Kenneth (Janice) Mueller, sister-in-laws Janis Wessel and Joyce Harms and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, two sisters Dorothy Lawson and Leona Post, brother-in-laws Vard Lawson, Ben Huber, and Roland Post. Also preceded by brothers and sister-in-laws, Harvey “Doc” Harms, George Wessel, Edward and Helen Kepler and nephews Brian Post (infant), Anthony Whitney, Gary Kepler, and Bruce Kepler. Funeral services: Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse. The service will be livestreamed on the Luther Memorial Church, NE YouTube page. Burial will follow at the Christ Lutheran Cemetery (Delaware) in rural Syracuse.

Visitation: Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Fusselman Allen Harvey Funeral Home in Syracuse.
