Nebraska starts fast, rallies for win over Michigan State


Nebraska turned 261 yards of total offense into 38 points and beat Michigan State 38-27 on homecoming in Lincoln on Saturday, Oct. 4. 

The Huskers opened the game with a 48-yard scoring drive and added a touchdown on a blocked punt to lead 14-0 before Michigan State scored 21 straight to take a seven point lead in the third quarter. 

Nebraska tied the score with a 45-yard pass from Dylan Raiola to Jacory Barney Jr. on 3rd and 10  and a 23 yard scoring run by Emmett Johnson. 

Michigan State fumbled the ensuing kick off and Nebraska went up 24-21 on a 27-yard field goal. 

The dagger was delivered when Raiola connected with Nyziah Hunter on a 59-yard touchdown pass to make the score 31-21. 

Nebraska is now 1-1 in Big 10 play and will travel to play Maryland on Oct. 11.
