CDR Robert G. Kramer, USN (ret) Robert “Bob” Kramer passed away peacefully on August 6, 2022. Bom October 24, 1934 to Henry and Alta Kramer in Syracuse, Nebraska, he was a graduate of Syracuse High School and Peru State College.
In 1956 Bob married
Peggy Wendeln from Burr, NE and they raised 3 children during a 22 year career as an officer in the United States Navy. He was a star basketball and football player in high school and continued to play basketball during his time in the Navy, during which time he also became an avid and skilled golfer. Bob graduated from the San Diego Golf Academy and managed the Mission Trails (formerly Navajo Canyon) Golf Course in San Diego. He then moved on to be the business manager for the Armed Services YMCA San Diego. Upon retirement, Bob and Peggy settled in Chula Vista and Bonita, CA and spent their time playing golf and doting on their grandchildren. Over the years, Bob kept up his golf skills with his many friends in the Sea ‘N Air and Admiral Baker Men’s clubs. He loved and participated in all types of sports throughout his life.
Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Peggy; his sister Carol (Steve) Andersen of Lincoln, NE; children Chris (Peggy), Kim Schattinger (Steve), Hank (Kimberley); 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Services will be at Miramar National Cemetery on
September 23, 2022, 12:30pm.
