Beverly A. Hawk, 82 of Syracuse, passed away at home on July 11, 2022. She was born on August 5, 1939, to Branson & Maureen (Rader) Schell in Cortland, NE. Bev graduated from Osceola High School where she was a popular student. On March 27, 1960, she married James Olsen and to this union Karen & Brian were born. They later divorced after 20 years, but stayed friends. She then married Donald Hawk on November 5, 1989, in Lincoln.

Bev worked as a care giver in many capacities, including taking care of people in their own home. Her family was the most important part of her life and she dedicated as much time as she could to be with them. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s events and traveling to see her family. Her other passion was as an advocate for feral cats and took care of them for 20 years. This including paying to have them spayed or neutered. Bev was also a member of the United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading.

She is survived by her brother Richard (Pat) Schell; daughter Karen Driever; grandsons Jasper (Kelsey) Keran, Bradley (Taylor) Driever, Kelson Driever; son Brian (Andrea) Olsen; grandsons Luke Olsen & Sean Olsen; great grandchildren Brycen Keran, Eldon Keran, Cooper Driever, Levi Hansen, Karsen Driever, Jaxon Driever, Brindley Driever, Easton Driever; daughter Lisa (Mike) Schmidt; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Hawk; former husband James Olsen and siblings Robert Schell, Barbara Schell and Raymond Schell.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Syracuse. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will follow immediately after the service in the Cortland Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
