The Maverick Media printing facility in Syracuse will be closed effective March 2, announced Stephen Wade, group publisher for GateHouse Media Nebraska.

The move does not affect the Syracuse Journal-Democrat or its staff.

“This was a very difficult decision. We have a family of top-notch employees, but the commercial print side of our business dictates that we consolidate our efforts into a different printing facility. Our dedication to the Journal-Democrat and our customers remains very strong. This move strengthens our ability to produce a quality newspaper and its accompanying products.”
