Rosters cemented for SE All Stars

A number of local area athletes will compete in the Southeast Community College All Star events set for later this month in Beatrice.
The All Star Volleyball Match will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 18, with the All-Star Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball All Star Games set for 6 and 8 p.m. Saturday, June. 19.
All three events will be at the Truman Center on the Beatrice campus.
The approximate boundaries for the all-star games were Highway 81 to the west, Highways 2 and 6 to the north, the Iowa/ Nebraska/Missouri border to the east, and the Kansas border to the south.
Over 80 high schools were invited to make nominations for the squads.
Each team was chosen from nominations submitted by the Southeast Nebraska coaches. The nominations were then screened by a committee made up of this year’s coaching staff and all other previous All-Star head coaches.
The teams were divided by Highway 77 and will be identified as the East and West teams.
Andrew Fedoris of Lourdes has been selected to play on the East All Star Boys’ Basketball team.
Fedoris plans to attend Nebraska Wesleyan College and major in psychology.
Erin DuBois of Lourdes has been selected to play on the East All Star Girls’ Basketball team.
DuBois plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and major in international politics.
Players selected to play on the East All Star Volleyball team include Kelsi Wichmann, Jordan Lechner, and Mackenzie Scheef of Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca, and Kelsey Kreifels of Lourdes.
Wichmann plans to attend Doane College and major in psychology/sociology.
Lechner plans to attend Wayne State College and major in history.
Scheef plans to attend Dana College and major in pre-K special education.
Kreifels plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Kearney and major in nursing.

The 22nd annual Coaches/Media Golf Classic will be at Hidden Acres Golf Course Friday, June 18.
Lunch will be at 11:30 a.m. at the Southeast Community College Student Center with 18 holes of golf to follow at 12:30 p.m.
