Three Rocket golfers finished in the top 12 of the gold division and the Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca team ended up with a runner-up finish during action at the Palmyra Invite last Wednesday on the Woodland Hills Golf Course.
Tim Jensen of S-D-A was the individual champion of the tourney with nine-hole rounds of 39 and 41 for an 18-hole score of 80.
Also finishing in the top 10 was Nate Stilmock, who scored 42 and 50 for a 92 and a 10th place medal. Adam Vogt finished 12th with nine-hole scores of 45 and 50 for a 95.
Rounding out the scores for the S-D-A team were Colton Knickman with scores of 51 and 53 for a 104, and Sean Johanns, who hit for scores of 53 and 57 for a 110.
Looking at the team race, the Rockets ended up shooting 371, while Milford took home the top team prize with a 360.
Milford also had the runner-up golfer in the individual standings thanks to Gus Shy’s 82.
Other team finishes in the gold division were Lincoln Lutheran, third; David City, fourth; Falls City, fifth; Friend, sixth; and Southern, seventh.
Palmyra competed in the Silver Division and ended up seventh in the eight-team field.
Team standings in the silver division had Elmwood-Murdock as the tourney champ with a score of 362.
Other team finishes were Humboldt-TRS, second; Johnson County Central, third; Lincoln Christian, fourth; Lewiston, fifth; Weeping Water, sixth; Palmyra, seventh; and Pawnee City, eighth.
Calvin Freeman of Humboldt-TRS was the individual silver division champion with scores of 36 and 39 for a 75.
Coming in second was Cody Behling of Elmwood-Murdock. He posted an 85.
