Juniors drop two games

Syracuse fell in a pair of three-run decisions in American Legion Juniors baseball last week.
The Rockets lost to Wymore, 6-3, and fell to Falls City, 9-6.
Errors were the main culprit for the Rockets in the Wymore loss. Brandon Loecker pitched five innings and took the loss. He allowed two earned runs. Jon Burr closed in relief.
Batting stats for the Wymore game were unavailable at the time of press.
Burr took the loss on the mound in the Falls City game. He worked three innings and allowed four earned runs on seven hits, walked five and struck out six. Jonathan Orchard pitched two innings, allowed two earned runs on one hit, walked a batter and hit a batter.
Offensive leaders for the Rockets were Connor Bohlken, 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI; Brett Weiler, double, walk, two runs and an RBI; Brandon Loecker, 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI; Mitch Goering, 2-for-3 with two RBI; Tyler Farley, walk and sacrifice bunt; Tyler Wellman, 1-for-2; and Skyler Teten, walk and run scored.
Syracuse recorded 14 stolen bases in the loss.
