Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca are still unbeaten after winning a Triangular event, where the Rockets took down Wilber-Clatonia and JCC on Tuesday, September 4 at Syracuse.

The Rockets made quick work of Wilber-Clatonia by winning 25-7 and 25-12.
Jessie Moss led the way with eight kills followed by Lauren Meyer with seven.  Lindsey Moss added five and Brooke Snyder had three.
Snyder paved the way in set assists with 21.

In the Rockets second contest, S-D-A defeated JCC; 25-5; 25-17.

“I thought as a whole, we played pretty clean throughout the tournament,” Coach Courtney VanGroningen said.

During the last set against JCC, the Rockets let the Thunderbirds hang around longer than VanGroningen wanted.  “During that last set the wheels started to come off because our girls were not staying focused, but all around, I thought our girls played really well.”

Up next for the Rockets are the Lincoln Christian Crusaders.  The Crusaders handed S-D-A it’s first loss on the year in 2017, with a 3 to 1 victory.

Heading into Thursday, VanGroningen said her team needs to work on passing and being more aggressive on defense, especially getting to the ball with urgency.

Rockets (4-0) vs Crusaders (5-5) on Thursday, September 6, at Syracuse.  Game time: 7 p.m.
