S-D-A came out on top in a hard fought contest to defeat Fort Calhoun in five sets on Tuesday Oct.10.
Fort Calhoun won the first set 20-25.
S-D-A bounced back and got the second set 25-18.
It went extra sets in the third with Fort Calhoun getting the win 26-24.
In the fourth and fifth set, the Rockets put away the Pioneers 25-19 and 15-13.
S-D-A had a team kill percentage of .370 percent in this event with 68 kills total.
Reagan Peterson was the Rockets kill leader with 25, Merdith Clark 13, Lauren Meyer and Jessie Moss had 11 each.  Emma Bjork had four kills, and Jaysa Zoller three.
Meyer had 17 digs and Brooke Snyder with 12.
Out of the teams 62 assists, Zoller set up 52.
Coach Courtney Vangroningen said she is always pleased with a win and how the team fought hard but understands the Rockets need to cut down on errors.
“We didn’t play a very clean game and made a lot of fundamental mistakes.”  VanGroningen said.  “It was good to see our girls battle back and come out with the win.”
With the win, the Rockets raised their record to 18-2.
