More than 12,000 athletes are expected to participate in the 33rd annual Cornhusker State Games for Nebraskans of all ages and abilities.  
Competition in 68 sports will take place July 21 through 30 in both the Lincoln and Omaha areas.
Otoe County athletes signed up to participate in the games include
Shane Bassinger, Nebraska City, adult doubles bowling;
Corey Bohlen, Nebraska City, adult stroke play golf, open mens;
Jordan Dierking, Nebraska City, adult doubles bowling and male singles bowling (169 and under);
Brayden Earll, Nebraska City, archery target events, indoor 450 round, male cub bowhunter freestyle;
Izabella Earll, Nebraska City, archery target events, indoor 450 round, female youth bowhunter freestyle;
Robert Earll, Nebraska City, archery target events, indoor 450 round, male adult bowhunter freestyle;
Jill Holle, Otoe, track and field, masters female, 100-meter dash, females 35 to 39 years of age; track and field, masters female, long jump, women 35 to 39 years of age; and track and field, masters female, triple jump, women 35 to 39 years of age;
Zachary Kirchner, Palmyra, junior open chess;
Caleb Poggemeyer, Nebraska City, doubles pickleball, multi-generation;

Also participating are the Defending Sucker Ups from Unadilla, who will participate in indoor coed A adult volleyball. Team captain is Lucas Bauman, and team members are Kelsey Appleby, Aaron Dueker, Zach Madsen, Kelby Phillips, and Klaire Phillips.
