
Loretta Sporhase, 84, Syracuse, formerly Otoe, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society-Syracuse. She was born June 27, 1925, near Diller, daughter of John Lange and Sophia Knuppel. She married Elmer A. Sporhase Feb. 8, 1948, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Diller. He died March 11, 2000, at Nebraska City.
A seamstress at the former Pendleton’s, Nebraska City, Sporhase was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Otoe, and Ladies Aid.
Surviving are two brothers, Walter Lange, Blue Springs, and Maynard Lange, Ovid, Colo.; sister Lorene Bethke, Davenport, Neb.; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her husband, Sporhase was preceded by her parents; two sisters, Della and Janet; brothers-in-law Albert Sporhase and Harold Bethke; and sisters-in-law Doris and Wilma.
The service is Thursday, Jan. 28, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Otoe. Vicar Mark Ekstrom will officiate. Interment will be at Park Hill Cemetery.
Karen Kuenning is organist. There will be congregational singing.
