Maxine Stilwell, 79, of Unadilla, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln. She was born June 19, 1931 to Max and Maude (Page) Ebert. She married Jack Stilwell on March 24, 1952, at the parsonage at North Branch.
She worked for Gartner Construction for many years. She was a member of O.E.S. # 257- Palmyra, American Legion Auxiliary Post #100, United Methodist Church, UMW, FCE Sundowners Club, and was American Legion Auxiliary District 12 Past President. She also taught school and loved to send cards for many birthdays and anniversaries.
She is survived by husband Jack Stilwell of Unadilla; daughters Ann and husband Galen Crawford of Unadilla and Kay and husband Tom Bergquist of Lincoln; grandchildren Dan and Tanya Crawford of Stromsberg, Ashley and Matt Hillebrandt of Omaha, Megan and Randy Kelly of Lake View, Iowa, and Tracy Cubiotti of Lincoln; great-grandchildren Kole Crawford and Christopher Hillebrandt; sisters Viola Gartner of Unadilla, Lois Ebert of Unadilla, Ruby and husband Ralph Grundman of Talmage; and many friends.
She was preceded by brother Charles, sister Pauline and husband Herb, and brother-in-law Ralph Gartner.
Funeral services were July 26 at the United Methodist Church in Unadilla with Rev. Tony Dawson officiating. Organist was Carolyn Kastens.
Burial was in the Unadilla Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dan Crawford, Matt Hillebrandt, Randy Kelly, Dean Luff, Darren Donovan and Lyle Gartner.
Memorials are to the family’s choice.
