Calvin C. Mullins, 84, was born October 2, 1933 in Watson, Mo. 
Calvin passed away peacefully on Feb. 3, 2018,  at 84 years of age.
“Curly” as he is better known was the 13th of 14 children.
He graduated from high school in 1953 from Blanchard, Iowa. 
He enlisted in the United States Army in 1954. 
His 26 year military career took him to many places in the United States and Europe. 
In addition, Calvin served three tours in Vietnam and two in Korea, four were combat tours. 
Upon retirement in 1980 he settled in Kansas City, Mo., with his wife Anita.  Calvin always viewed his military career with modesty, never elaborating on the many military awards and medals he received.
Calvin’s loves in life were his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends. He also loved fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He was a great dad and a good man.
Calvin was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Anita Carolyn (Harness) Mullins and his parents, Alex and Rebecca (Bailey) Mullins.
He is survived by his brother DB Mullins (Liz Mullins) of Shenandoah, his daughters Nancy Mullins Leigh of Montgomery, Ala., Jennifer Welch (David Welch) of Lafayette, La., his son Gregory Mullins (Lola Karloff) of Albuquerque, N.M. and seven grandchildren: Jessica, David, James, Daniel, Rebekah, Jeannine and Jonathan, five great-grandchildren and a large extended family.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. and services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd.; inurnment in Green Lawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to a Veteran’s support group of your choosing.
