Geneva Wredt, born May 12, 1929, went home to heaven on Tuesday, March 27, 2018.
She is preceded in death by her father, Edward Roach, and mother, Susan (Tuttle) Roach, her husband, Herbert, sisters, Virginia, Wanda, Hazel, and Agnes, and her grandson, Donovan Wredt.
She is survived by her children, Kirk, Charles, Tim (Jean), Joe (Bonnie), Randy (Cindy), Tony (Holly), Pat (Dena), Kathy Meyer (Darrell), Therese Camden (Ed), as well as, 24 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren, and friends too numerous to mention, that also called her mom. Geneva was born and raised in Nebraska City. She and Herb were married in 1946 and moved to Omaha before settling down in Council Bluffs to raise their family.
Geneva is remembered by many as the unofficial Mayor of Playland Park for unwavering devotion to the development of a park and recreation facility in her neighborhood.
After retiring from community service, she enjoyed the job she was best at, being a loving Grandma.
A Rosary was to take place at Cutler- O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel on Thursday, March 29, at 6 p.m., with visitation to follow until 8 p.m. A Funeral was to take place on Friday, March 30, at 10 a.m., at Holy Family Church  with luncheon to follow. Burial was to follow the luncheon at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City at approximately 1 p.m. Family will direct memorials.
