Roberta Sue Belding, age 75, of Nebraska City passed away March 12, 2018, at The Ambassador Care Center in Nebraska City after a hard-fought battle with cancer.  
Roberta was born June 6, 1942 in Enterprise, Kan., the daughter of Wallace and Maude (Hurley) Funston.  
She grew up in Holton, Kan., and later attended Emporia State University where she met her husband Walter.
Walter and Roberta were married Dec. 26, 1962, in Topeka, Kan.
During her life she was an avid genealogist, loving wife, doting grandmother and dedicated church member.  
She will be missed greatly by friends and family.  
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Wilber, Gene, Bill and Richard Funston.  
Survivors include her husband, Walter Belding of Nebraska City; daughter, Megan (Belding) Miller of Lincoln; grandson, Travis Miller; sisters, Kathy (Funston) Starbuck and Anne (Funston) Jones; and brother, Stan Funston.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 19, at the First United Methodist Church in Nebraska City with burial of ashes to follow in Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.
There will be no viewing or visitations.
Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church of
Morton James Public Library.
