William “Bill” H. Behling Jr., 73, of Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at home surrounded by family.
He was born on Feb. 7, 1944, to William Sr. and Eda (Ehmke) Behling in Nebraska City.
He married Marlene Senn on June 3, 1967, at the United Methodist Church in Bartlett.
Bill was a dairy farmer and also worked as a sales rep. for Archer Oil.
After farming he worked at Normans Grocery store in Nebraska City and was on the Otoe County Planning Commission.
For many years he served as a security guard at the state fair.
He enjoyed playing cards in Otoe, and loved to visit with everyone that he met.
Survivors include wife: Marlene of Syracuse; son: Ron (Kim) Behling of Syracuse; daughters: Shelly (Wayne) Nielsen of Moravia, Iowa; Roxie (Dan) Pratt of Lincoln; grandchildren: Cody (Taylor), Ray (Kaylyn), Heather, Autumn and Michael Behling, Austin and Sam Nielsen, Casey and Carson Pratt; sisters-in-law: Kathryn Molczyk, Carolyn Potts; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Steve and Linda Senn; beloved family dog: Chloe and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Johny Behling, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Francis and Doris Senn, brothers-in-law: Fred Potts, Charles Molczyk and nephew: Paul Molczyk.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church (North Branch) in rural Avoca. Burial will be  held at First Lutheran Cemetery (North Branch).
Visitation will  be Friday, Dec. 29, from 1-9 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at Fusselman Allen Harvey Funeral Home in Syracuse
