Mary E. Reifler, age 57, of Nebraska City passed away on Sunday morning; Sept. 3, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln.
She was born on May 2, 1960, in Nebraska City; the daughter of Donald Joseph and Marcia Lea (Peterson) Pickering.  
She attended school and graduated from the Nebraska City High School with the class of 1978 and then attended Wayne State College.
In her younger years, Mary was an avid tennis player and a talented flutist. She worked as an aid at the Beatrice State Home, Beatrice.
She is survived by her children:  Laura (Pickering) Helfner and husband Brett of Dix Hills, N.Y., Lisa Curtis and Donna Curtis both of Lincoln, Katie Curtis and significant other John Carman of Nebraska City and Adam Reifler of Lincoln; her father Donald Pickering of Nebraska City; 12 grandchildren:  Reagan, Devon, Derek, Kinzley, Rayden, Graysen, Payton, Bentley, Maddox, Ava, Kyley and Lilith; a brother Joseph Pickering and wife Annette of Beatrice; other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Marcia in 1997.
A Celebration of Life Service was to be held Friday; Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City.
